Waris Pathan Warns Against Threats to Constitution on Ambedkar Jayanti

Mumbai, April 14: AIMIM leader Waris Pathan emphasized the importance of protecting the Constitution on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary. He expressed concern over what he perceives as a conspiracy to undermine the Constitution in the country.

In a conversation in Mumbai, Pathan stated that Dr. Ambedkar was the architect of the Constitution, which serves as the foundation for the oaths taken by the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister. He lamented that discussions about abolishing the Constitution are still occurring today. He criticized laws like the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which he believes label people as anti-Constitutional.

Pathan asserted that the nation should operate under the Constitution, laws, and the rule of law. He believes that respecting the Constitution is crucial for steering the country towards a secular and progressive society.

Commenting on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation, Pathan accused the BJP of orchestrating a premeditated conspiracy. He claimed that the BJP manipulated the situation to form its government, drawing parallels between Kumar’s resignation and the events involving Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra. He warned that Chandra Babu Naidu might be the next target.

Pathan alleged that the BJP excels in deceitful politics and will do anything for votes and power.

On the issue of forced conversions, he stated that no religion advocates for coercion. He called for legal action against individuals involved in forced conversions but condemned the broader stigmatization of the Muslim community and the spread of hatred.

He criticized the emergence of terms like “corporate jihad,” suggesting it is part of a conspiracy to defame Muslims, following earlier terms like “love jihad” and “land jihad.”

Pathan also expressed concern over the removal of names from the voter list during the Special Identity Registration (SIR) process in West Bengal, noting that approximately 9 million names are being deleted. He urged citizens to prepare necessary documents to safeguard their voting rights.

He warned that the BJP could create unrest anywhere, asserting that they are contesting elections in 10 seats and are determined to succeed in their fight for rights. He claimed that minorities have not received their due rights and described the TMC and BJP as two sides of the same coin. He stated that they are focused on development, while the BJP spreads hatred.

Regarding drug issues, Pathan highlighted the devastating impact of substance abuse on the youth. He called for stringent action from the Mumbai police, asserting that they could eliminate the drug trade if they chose to do so.
