Varun Dhawans New Film Promises a Nostalgic Twist on Classic Comedy

Mumbai, April 14: The first look of Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film, “Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai,” featuring Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, has been unveiled.

The initial visuals suggest that the film presents a familiar story wrapped in a fresh package. The chemistry among Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde is evident, yet the plot’s suspense is already laid bare in this first glimpse.

In “Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai,” Varun Dhawan portrays a character living a double life with two wives—Mrunal Thakur as the first and Pooja Hegde as the second. The look evokes memories of Govinda’s films like “Sandwich” and “Sajan Chale Sasural.” Audiences can expect a mix of Salman Khan’s song titles and Govinda’s comedic scripts.

Fans will recall Govinda’s “Sandwich,” where Mahima Chaudhry and Raveena Tandon give birth to twins named Tony and Tuk Tuk, both resembling their father, Govinda. The first look of Varun’s film features two AI-generated children who first mention their mother’s name before revealing their father’s. When they discover both fathers share the same name, they humorously question if they have the same dad.

It is clear that “Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai” draws inspiration from “Sandwich” and “Sajan Chale Sasural.” The latter was directed by Varun Dhawan’s father, David Dhawan, who is also at the helm of this new project. It’s safe to say that David Dhawan’s films are known for their comedic flair, often leaving audiences in fits of laughter. Fans are hopeful that Varun Dhawan’s film will deliver the same magic that Govinda’s classics did.
