Mumbai, April 14: The new romantic song “Tu Hi Disda” from Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror-comedy film “Bhoot Bangla” has recently been released, capturing the attention of many. The song features the beautiful voices of Arijit Singh and Nikita Gandhi. The music is composed by Pritam, with lyrics penned by Kumar.
In a recent exclusive interview, singer Nikita Gandhi described the song as a tribute to the Gen Z generation. She believes it perfectly embodies the essence of today’s youth. Listening to the song feels like a dream, resonating deeply within the heart. “I am incredibly happy to be a part of this song. It is a lovely piece, and once again, I collaborated with Arijit and Pritam. We have created many great songs together, and this is one of them,” she shared.
Nikita praised the melody of the song, highlighting its Indian roots and the inclusion of a piano track that beautifully complements the romantic genre. She emphasized that this song is perfect for the younger generation.
The singer also shared her thoughts on remixes and original songs, stating that both have their merits. Each has its good and bad aspects. Remixes tend to be more popular because people are already familiar with those songs. “When I perform a remake of an old song like ‘Raat Baaki, Baat Baaki’ on stage, everyone recognizes it, whether it’s at a college gig or in front of teachers. The best part about remakes is that they carry forward the old legacy and introduce it to a new generation,” Nikita explained.
Reflecting on her early career, Nikita noted that many initial songs were often given to other singers, a trend that has decreased over time. The positive aspect now is that singers have developed their brand value and identity.
In conclusion, Nikita offered advice to new singers, saying, “If someone presents a scratch version, it’s important to clarify that it’s not the final version. This helps manage the composer’s expectations.” She emphasized that ultimately, the song belongs to the composer, and the singer merely interprets it. Thus, it is better to be clear when presenting a scratch version.
