
Mumbai, April 14: Renowned director Imtiaz Ali, composer A.R. Rahman, and lyricist Irshad Kamil are set to dazzle audiences once again with their upcoming film ‘Main Wapas Aaunga.’ On Tuesday, the filmmakers released a behind-the-scenes video of the new song ‘Kya Kamaal Hai.’
In the Instagram post, singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is seen recording in the studio, while Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman crafts the melody. The opening lines of the song are so soothing that they resonate deeply with listeners. This marks the second major collaboration between Rahman and Dosanjh, following the tremendous success of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila,’ generating excitement among music lovers.
The video has created a buzz online, offering fans a glimpse into the creative process behind the song.
In their announcement, the makers wrote, “Two years ago, they created magic with ‘Amar Singh Chamkila.’ This Baisakhi, A.R. Rahman, Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali, and Irshad Kamil are reuniting for another fantastic song from their upcoming film ‘Main Wapas Aaunga.’ ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ is a hopeful song that provides solace amidst today’s chaos. It is inspired by a love that endures despite the losses experienced during the partition. This is a sneak peek into its creation. The song ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ will be released soon.”
Although ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ has not yet been released, the makers have shared the BTS video to heighten fans’ anticipation.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, alongside notable actors Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari Wagh.
The music is composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Mohit Chaudhary, and Shivashish Sarkar, the film promises to deliver an emotional narrative that audiences can enjoy in theaters starting June 12.
