
Dehradun, February 23: The Uttarakhand government is taking significant steps to ensure the safety of officials, employees, and teachers in government offices and workplaces. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the state’s Chief Secretary to formulate a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this purpose.
According to the Uttarakhand Information and Public Relations Department, officials from the Uttarakhand Employees Teachers Front met with Chief Minister Dhami at his residence on Monday. They informed him about an incident that occurred on February 21 at the Directorate of Elementary Education, along with other recent events involving government officials and employees. They urged the Chief Minister to take measures to prevent such incidents.
Listening attentively to the employee leaders, CM Dhami emphasized that the government has always been serious about the dignity and safety of its personnel. He instructed the Chief Secretary over the phone to prepare an SOP for the safety of officials, employees, and teachers.
Additionally, CM Dhami has directed DGP Deepam Seth to ensure robust security arrangements at government offices and to take swift legal action against such incidents. He also instructed the SSP of Dehradun to take appropriate action against those involved in the recent incident at the Directorate of Education.
Present at the meeting were Pratap Singh Pawar, Vice Chairman of the State Medicinal Plants Board, Ram Singh Chauhan, President of the Uttarakhand Employees Teachers Front, General Secretary Mukesh Bahuguna, and other officials.
In a statement, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to strengthening the cultural essence, social harmony, and lawful governance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, CM Dhami also commented on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), stating, “The implementation of the CAA by the Government of India under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a historic decision. This law provides an opportunity for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains facing religious persecution in neighboring countries to live with dignity in India.”
He added, “In Uttarakhand, 153 individuals have also been granted citizenship. This step not only strengthens humanitarian values but also embodies the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ connecting Hindus living worldwide with national pride.”
