Paris, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Thursday morning after successful meetings at the G-7 summit in Évian. He received a warm welcome from the Indian community upon his arrival. Modi expressed pride in the efforts of the Indian community to bring India and France closer together. He emphasized that the India-France partnership is essential for the progress of our world.
After landing in Paris, PM Modi shared several photos on his official social media platform, ‘X’, showcasing his interactions with Indian citizens.
In his post, he wrote, “I just arrived in Paris, where the Indian community gave me a warm welcome. I take pride in their efforts to bring India and France closer together. The India-France partnership is crucial for the advancement of our world.”
Earlier, regarding the G-7 summit, Modi stated, “During the G-7 summit in Évian, several important meetings and discussions took place. I had the opportunity to present India’s views and efforts on governance and policymaking. Additionally, I highlighted the need to collaborate with the Global South in the context of global prosperity.”
He further mentioned in his post, “Now, I will head to Paris for the final leg of my France visit. The events in Paris will include a speech at ‘VivaTech 2026’ and interactions with members of the Indian community during a community program.”
It is noteworthy that India is actively positioning itself as the voice of the Global South, advocating for inclusive development, fair trade, and equal access to technology. PM Modi’s participation in the G-7 summit is seen as part of this broader diplomatic initiative, which aims to strengthen India’s role in discussions related to global governance.
Currently, there are expectations for enhanced ties between India and France, particularly in technology, innovation, and mutual relations among people during this Paris visit.
