The site, located around 20 km from the district headquarters amidst the Aravalli hills, is home to the revered Shiv temple and a natural waterfall. To enhance its beauty, the Forest Department has developed three-tier water structures and created the Shiv Van Udyan. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kataria said that by the grace of Lord Ubeshwar Mahadev, the area has witnessed significant development, especially after the Chaturmas of Saint Avdheshanand Maharaj. He noted that the construction of the Vaishno Devi Mata Temple atop the nearby hill had transformed the entire landscape, making it a key tourist attraction.

He praised the Forest Department’s role in promoting eco-tourism in Udaipur and highlighted the successful implementation of the Dewas project to keep the city’s lakes filled year-round. “Ubeshwar Mahadev’s waterfall will soon become a major attraction and a new identity for natural tourism in Udaipur,” Kataria said, adding that the district holds immense potential for developing new eco-tourism sites.

Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma stated that Udaipur already holds a prominent place on the international tourism map, and the development of such sites around the city will provide additional options for visitors. He credited the original idea for developing these spots to Governor Kataria, noting his continued guidance and innovative suggestions even after assuming his gubernatorial post.

Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi said that Kataria’s constant concern for Rajasthan, even while serving outside the state, has led to the creation of new tourist destinations. He also called for identifying and developing sites linked to Maharana Pratap’s era as attractions for visitors.

Tree Plantation Under Harit Rajasthan
At the start of the event, Governor Kataria, Minister Sharma, and Minister Kharadi participated in a plantation drive under the Harit Rajasthan – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. Forest officials informed that the area includes 650 hectares of reserve forest, of which 10 hectares have been developed. Personnel who excelled in their duties were also honoured during the programme.

Minister Sharma urged people to plant trees and upload selfies with them on the Harit Rajasthan portal to receive a digital certificate featuring photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, as proof of their participation in the campaign.
