Udaipur, 29 December 2025: The 15-day retail fertilizer seller training organised by the Directorate of Extension Education, Udaipur, concluded on 29 December 2025. The training, held from 15 December to 29 December 2025, was formally closed in the presence of chief guest Dr I.J. Mathur, former director of the Directorate of Extension Education at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur.

In his address, Dr Mathur urged the trainees to sincerely support farmers by providing accurate advice, thereby becoming agents of positive change for them. He highlighted important aspects such as customised fertilizers, balanced fertilizers, and integrated nutrient management. Dr Mathur also discussed the significance of nano fertilizers and water-soluble fertilizers.

He further elaborated on six key dimensions of agriculture—soil, water, seed, tools, environment, and the farmer—emphasising that farmers must be the top priority. Fertilizer sellers should prepare themselves accordingly to serve the farmers better.

The programme’s chairman, Dr R.L. Soni, Director of Extension Education, Udaipur, advised the trainees on successful business practices. He stressed the importance of maintaining good relationships and courteous behaviour with farmers, and supplying all types of products at fair prices.

Distinguished guest Dr M.C. Goyal, Director of Residential Instruction, Agriculture University, Kota, encouraged the fertilizer sellers to establish direct contact with farmers after completing the training. He urged them to motivate farmers to adopt the latest and modern agricultural technologies to increase their income. Dr Goyal also shared detailed insights on the concept of the six J’s—water, forest, land, people, life, and awareness.

The training coordinator and instructor, Dr Yogesh Kanojia, highlighted the importance of balanced fertilizer use and soil testing. He briefly informed the participants about soil health cards, nutrient management, benefits of integrated nutrients, organic farming, and its advantages.

The closing ceremony included the distribution of certificates to all 45 trainees from various districts of the state who attended the training. The participants received both theoretical and practical knowledge from university agricultural scientists and state government officials.
