Greater Noida, February 23: In a late-night encounter on Sunday in the Rabupura police station area, one suspect was injured while another was apprehended during a combing operation.
Police recovered illegal weapons, a stolen motorcycle, and tools related to cow slaughter from the suspects. According to police reports, on February 22, 2026, information was received about suspicious activities near the Karoli underpass.
Based on this tip-off, a police team conducted an extensive checking operation in the area. During this operation, they attempted to stop two suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle. When the police signaled them to halt, the suspects tried to flee and opened fire on the police team. The police responded promptly and pursued the suspects.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, one suspect was shot and injured. He was identified as Salman, son of Bukhari, a resident of Mohalla Aarapuri, Thana Kairana, District Shamli. His accomplice, Aslam, son of Akbar, from Village Rohinda, Thana Arnia, District Bulandshahr, was captured by the police after a brief chase.
The injured suspect was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, where he is currently receiving care. Police recovered two illegal .315 bore pistols, two live cartridges, two spent cartridges, a stolen motorcycle without a number plate, and tools used for cow slaughter, including two ropes, two knives, a syringe, a vial of injection, and two empty plastic bags.
According to police officials, the arrested suspects are known criminals and were wanted in a case registered at Rabupura police station under the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act.
