
Unakapalli, June 23: A devastating fire at the Southna Energy Chemical Factory in Parawada Pharma City, located in Andhra Pradesh‘s Unakapalli district, has shocked the entire state. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning, resulted in the tragic deaths of two workers, while two others sustained serious injuries. In response, the state government has promptly initiated relief and rescue operations.
Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Upon learning of the accident, he immediately contacted the Unakapalli district collector to gather details about the situation. Officials informed him that the fire broke out around 6 AM, leading to the loss of two lives and leaving two others critically injured.
Pawan Kalyan sought updates on the fire control measures and called for a review of steps being taken to prevent such accidents in industrial units. He issued clear directives for an immediate safety audit of all industrial areas surrounding Visakhapatnam. Additionally, he emphasized the need to provide the best possible medical care for the injured workers. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, assuring them that the state government stands in solidarity with the affected families.
Meanwhile, the state’s Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita also expressed serious concern regarding the incident. She spoke with the district collector and the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Unakapalli to obtain information about the event and the ongoing relief efforts.
The Home Minister instructed officials to expedite the rescue operations and ensure the injured receive the best medical facilities available. She assured that the government would take every necessary step to prevent such incidents in the future. Furthermore, she promised that all families affected by this tragic event would receive every possible assistance and support from the state government.
