Mumbai, June 12: BJP National General Secretary Turun Chugh addressed the ongoing turmoil within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal on Friday.
In an interview with a news agency, he stated that the current situation in West Bengal is well-known. However, it is crucial to understand the reasons behind this state of affairs. He attributed the current predicament to the past misdeeds of the TMC, claiming that their corruption has led to a complete loss of credibility. According to him, no one is willing to engage with the TMC anymore.
Chugh also took a jab at Rahul Gandhi, referencing historical issues. He questioned who was responsible for the anti-Sikh riots, emphasizing that the perpetrators are well-known. He pointed out that even today, there are widows living in colonies in Delhi. Additionally, he raised concerns about the Bhopal gas tragedy and alleged corruption in the Bofors case, questioning those who rely on foreign investigative agencies to manipulate the current political landscape.
“I want to make it clear that the public is well aware of the character and actions of Congress members. They will not gain anything from their current tactics,” he asserted.
Chugh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievements, stating that under his leadership, the nation is witnessing success across various sectors. He emphasized that the country is developing at a rapid pace, and Modi has made a significant impact on the populace through his work. He advised Rahul Gandhi to refrain from misleading the public, asserting that any attempts to do so would be futile.
Moreover, he welcomed the Haryana government’s decision to include Sikh history in the eighth-grade history curriculum. Chugh described this move as commendable, as it will educate children about the Sikh community’s contributions to nation-building. He also noted that Prime Minister Modi has initiated the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas to honor the sacrifices of the two Sahibzadas, reminding the nation of their commitment to not accept Islam under any circumstances. The sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur are also commemorated nationwide.
