Washington, February 24: U.S. President Donald Trump has reacted sharply to a recent Supreme Court ruling regarding tariffs. He stated that, albeit unintentionally, the court has strengthened his presidential powers. Trump made critical comments about the court’s potential role in issues like tariffs, licensing fees, and birthright citizenship.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Trump expressed that the Supreme Court of the United States has mistakenly granted him far more power and authority than before, due to what he described as “ridiculous, foolish, and internationally divisive” decisions.

He emphasized that he could use licensing to take severe actions against foreign nations, particularly those that have exploited the U.S. for decades. Trump questioned why the U.S. cannot impose licensing fees when every license typically incurs a charge, pointing out the lack of clarification in the ruling.

The court has approved numerous other tariffs, which can now be enforced with greater legal certainty and strength than before. He criticized the Supreme Court for benefiting the wrong people and suggested they should feel ashamed.

Trump warned that the next ruling might favor China and other nations profiting from birthright citizenship, arguing that the 14th Amendment was clearly intended to protect the children of slaves, as evidenced by its timing coinciding with the end of the Civil War. He expressed skepticism about the court’s ability to arrive at just conclusions, fearing it would benefit China and other countries again.

He concluded by stating that the Supreme Court should continue making decisions detrimental to the future of the country, while he remains focused on making America great again.
