Madhya Pradesh Honorees Receive Padma Shri Awards: Chief Minister Congratulates

New Delhi, June 23: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has extended his congratulations to two distinguished individuals from Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Nagar (for social service) and Bhagwan Das Raikwar (posthumously for sports and Bundeli martial arts), who were awarded the Padma Shri honor by President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday.

CM Yadav remarked that the remarkable contributions of both honorees to social service and sports have not only brought pride to Madhya Pradesh but also serve as an inspiring example for society and the youth.

This year, a total of four individuals from Madhya Pradesh were selected for the Padma Shri award. They include Mohan Nagar, Kailash Chandra Pant, Bhagwan Das Raikwar, and Dr. Narayan Vyas. The awards were announced by the Government of India on January 25, 2026. The ceremony for the Padma awards was held in two phases at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The first phase concluded on May 25, 2026. A total of 131 Padma awards were announced this year, with two honorees from Madhya Pradesh, Pant (in literature and education) and Dr. Vyas (in archaeology), receiving their honors in the first phase last month.

In the second phase of the ceremony on June 23, 65 individuals were honored, including the two from Madhya Pradesh. On this day, Mohan Nagar received his award, while Bhagwan Das Raikwar, who passed away on April 18, was honored posthumously, with the award accepted by his son, Rajkumar Raikwar.
