
Agartala, February 13: Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Friday that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the state has entered a new phase of development. Both the central and state governments are collaborating to ensure welfare benefits reach the most marginalized individuals in society.
During the virtual inauguration of three development projects in Udaipur, Gomati district, the Chief Minister stated that these initiatives will open new avenues for infrastructure development while also contributing to environmental protection, urbanization, and overall economic progress.
Saha mentioned that approximately ₹1,300 crore worth of development projects are currently underway across Tripura. Expressing optimism about the country’s future, he noted that India is making continuous progress towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 and urged citizens to actively participate in achieving this national goal.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the current government is implementing development programs with speed and sensitivity, standing with the public in both good and challenging times.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s vision, Saha pointed out that special attention is being given to the holistic development of the poor, farmers, women, and youth. He further stated that as a committed guardian of the nation, Prime Minister Modi has ensured national security while countering various conspiracies.
Saha announced that a paperless administrative system has been implemented from the civil secretariat down to the panchayat level. He noted that Tripura has achieved the status of a fully literate state, following Goa and Mizoram, and has won 347 awards at both national and regional levels.
Additionally, Saha revealed plans to launch the Vande Bharat Express in Tripura to strengthen the transportation network. He also mentioned that work will soon commence on converting the road from Agartala to Udaipur in southern Tripura into a four-lane highway.
The government’s aim is not only to develop Agartala but also to ensure balanced and inclusive growth throughout the entire state.
