RSS Grows, But Shortage of Good People Persists: Kailash Vijayvargiya

Bhopal, June 26: Kailash Vijayvargiya, a minister in the Madhya Pradesh government, expressed concerns about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He noted that while the organization is expanding, there is a diminishing number of good individuals within it. Vijayvargiya mentioned that many officials claim they used to attend RSS branches regularly.

He spoke at the Shree Shaligram Tomar Smriti Rashtrasevi Samman ceremony, organized by the Nawalay organization at Manas Bhawan in Bhopal, which was also attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

During his address, Vijayvargiya remarked, “Now that we are in government, every official comes forward, discussing their connection to the RSS and its branches. Has everyone suddenly become part of the RSS since we came to power? One official mentioned that his father was the branch president, but he didn’t even know that such a position doesn’t exist.”

He further stated that while the RSS has become crowded, there is a noticeable lack of good individuals. He highlighted the names of some attendees, emphasizing the dwindling presence of such people. “The organization is growing, and the ideology is expanding, but what value does this ideology hold without good individuals? We need to reflect on this,” he added. He also noted that many officials still try to showcase their affiliation by wearing the RSS uniform.

Following the event, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took to social media platform X, stating, “Today, at the ceremony organized by the Nawalay organization in Bhopal, I had the opportunity to meet many fellow workers from ABVP, reviving old memories in honor of the late senior RSS propagator Shaligram Tomar. National service was the essence of Shaligram Ji’s life. He nurtured numerous activists, inspiring millions of youth through his exemplary life.”

Yadav also mentioned that social worker Sadashiv Devdhar from Pune and Arvind Moghe were honored with the Shaligram Tomar Smriti Rashtrasevi Samman, each receiving a cash prize of one lakh rupees.
