Jaipur, June 26: Hanuman Beniwal, the president of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and MP from Nagaur, has criticized the Rajasthan government regarding the cash scandal linked to the Plan Bhawan. On Friday, he raised concerns about the investigation into the case, where ₹2.31 crore in cash and nearly one kilogram of gold were recovered from the basement of Plan Bhawan, located near the state secretariat in Jaipur, during the previous Gehlot government’s tenure.
In a press statement, Beniwal pointed out that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had strongly condemned this incident while in opposition, labeling it a significant example of corruption. He accused the BJP of remaining silent on the matter after forming the government in Rajasthan.
Beniwal questioned why there has been no public action on an issue that was crucial for the BJP’s criticism of the previous Congress government. He inquired whether the investigation has reached any conclusions and demanded information about the owner of the seized cash and gold.
He also raised concerns regarding the identification of those involved in the case, asking why the state government has not made the investigation results public. Beniwal speculated whether this silence is intended to protect certain individuals.
He emphasized that the people of Rajasthan have the right to know the truth. Beniwal urged Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to clarify the status of the investigation and to disclose information related to the case.
The cash recovery from Plan Bhawan became a political controversy when cash and gold were seized during the previous Congress government’s term, prompting opposition parties to demand a thorough investigation.
Beniwal reiterated that the state government should present the facts to the public and ensure transparency in this matter.
