Visakhapatnam, June 23: A devastating fire erupted on Tuesday at South Energy Industries located in Pharma City, Parawada, Andhra Pradesh. Reports confirm that two workers have lost their lives, while several others have sustained injuries. Authorities fear that the death toll may rise.
The incident occurred in the outskirts of the port city of Parawada. Panic ensued in the area following the outbreak of the fire. Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and rescue teams, quickly arrived at the scene to initiate relief and rescue operations.
Firefighters are actively working to control the blaze. Simultaneously, a rescue operation is underway to safely evacuate individuals trapped inside the factory. Injured workers have been transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Senior officials from the police and fire department are present at the site, monitoring the situation closely. Preliminary information indicates that between 30 to 50 employees typically work in the factory during each shift. However, it remains unclear how many people were on-site at the time of the fire and how many managed to escape safely.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Officials state that a clearer picture will emerge only after the fire is completely extinguished and the premises are thoroughly inspected. Authorities suspect that more employees may still be trapped inside the factory, making it possible for the number of casualties and injuries to increase. Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing.
