Amaravati, June 23: The Andhra Pradesh government has launched the ‘Swarnandhra Vision 2047’ initiative, targeting a 15% growth rate through a partnership with the Institute of Financial Management and Research (IFMR).
The agreement was signed on Monday at the state secretariat, in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and officials from the state planning department.
Chief Minister Naidu emphasized the goal of achieving a 15% growth rate under this vision. He noted that between 2014 and 2019, the state achieved a compound annual growth rate of 13.5%, while the current growth rate stands at approximately 11% due to various factors.
The agreement aims to implement ten key principles to meet the vision’s objectives. Piyush Kumar, Principal Secretary of the state planning department, and Kapil Vishwanathan from IFMR exchanged the agreement documents.
IFMR will oversee the implementation of programs based on these ten principles and establish a ‘Mission Cells’ to enhance the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and growth rate.
The institute will collaborate with the state government on initiatives such as the Zero Poverty Mission, Water Security, and Deep Tech Mission. This will include field studies, policy recommendations, and new innovations.
Additionally, state-level committees and ‘Mission Working Groups’ will be formed to execute the ten-point agenda.
Chief Minister Naidu stated that deep technology is being rapidly adopted for development in the state. He highlighted projects in areas such as AI skilling, drone mapping, automobiles, metals, steel, rare earth minerals, semiconductors, and defense.
He also mentioned that AI and quantum technology are being promoted on a large scale in Andhra Pradesh.
The event was attended by Finance Minister P. Ayyaula Keshav, representatives from KREA and IFMR, and officials from the planning department.
