Noida, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : As the BRICS Summit approaches, significant traffic restrictions will be enforced in Gautam Buddh Nagar, particularly affecting routes to Delhi. From September 10 to 13, 2026, non-destination vehicles—those not headed to Delhi—will be prohibited from entering the city. This measure aims to enhance security during the high-profile event.
Authorities are urging drivers to utilize designated alternative routes to avoid congestion and traffic delays. Various diversions have been established at key border points and major thoroughfares. Vehicles attempting to enter Delhi from the Chilla Red Light border will be turned around and redirected to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, ultimately accessing the Eastern Peripheral Expressway for their journeys.
Similar restrictions apply to vehicles entering from the DND border, which will also be redirected at the DND toll plaza. Those coming from the Kalindi Kunj Yamuna border will be diverted before the underpass intersection, allowing them to access the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
For vehicles traveling from the Yamuna Expressway to Delhi, alternative routes will direct them from Zero Point to Parichowk, P-3, Kasna, and Sirsa, before they can reach the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Another route for these vehicles includes a diversion via Flida Cut and Rabupura, leading them through Galgotias, Gautam Buddha University, and other local points to the expressway.
Emergency vehicles, including those providing medical and fire services, will be permitted to pass safely during the diversion. The traffic police have emphasized that while restrictions are necessary for security, emergency services will remain unaffected.
Drivers are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and consider the traffic diversions in place during the BRICS Summit. The police have stated that adjustments to traffic management may be made as needed throughout the event.
