New Delhi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : As the BRICS Summit approaches, scheduled for September 11-13 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the city’s traffic police have implemented a detailed traffic management plan. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Commissioner of Police for Traffic Zone 2, shared insights on the preparations during a recent interview.
To accommodate the dignitaries attending the summit, arrangements have been made for their stay in nine hotels. Traffic police personnel will be stationed along the routes connecting the airport to these hotels and the summit venue. A total of 22 diversion points have been established to facilitate the movement of vehicles across the city.
In addition, the traffic police have issued advisories for travelers heading to the airport and railway stations during the summit days. Collaborations with Google Maps will provide real-time updates on traffic conditions, allowing commuters to navigate effectively.
The police have also partnered with ride-hailing services such as Ola, Uber, Rapido, and Bharat Taxi to ensure that the general public experiences minimal inconvenience. Gupta emphasized that the advisory is comprehensive and disseminated through various social media platforms and print media, informing the public of which routes will be affected at specific times.
He urged citizens to follow the traffic advisories closely to avoid disruptions during the summit. Local police will be present on the routes, and fire services will be on standby at key locations. The advisory outlines the routes to follow for those traveling to different parts of Delhi during the event.
