
New Delhi, May 25: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced a significant recruitment drive under the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026. This initiative invites eligible candidates to apply for a total of 12,256 vacancies across various ministries, departments, offices, and cadres for Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ positions.
The vacancies include roles such as Assistant Audit Officer (Central Cadre), Assistant Audit Officer (State Cadre), Assistant Section Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Inspector (Central Excise), Preventive Officer, Examiner, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub-Inspector, Executive Assistant, Research Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Sub-Inspector, Junior Intelligence Officer, Junior Statistical Officer, Statistical Investigator Grade-II, Office Superintendent, Section Head, Auditor, Accountant, Junior Accountant, Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, Senior Secretariat Assistant/Upper Division Clerk, Senior Administrative Assistant, Tax Assistant, and Sub-Inspector.
The online application process commenced on May 21 and will close on June 22. Candidates wishing to apply can complete their registration on the official SSC portal before 11 PM on the deadline. The last date for submitting the application fee is set for June 23, also by 11 PM.
For candidates who make errors while filling out the application form, a correction window will be available from June 29 to July 1 at 11 PM. However, candidates will need to pay a designated fee to make corrections.
Applicants must possess a relevant graduation or post-graduation degree from a recognized institution or university, along with qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Cost and Management Accountant, Company Secretary, or a Master’s in Commerce, Business Studies, Business Administration (Finance), or Business Economics. Additionally, candidates must meet other specified eligibility criteria and skills in their respective fields.
The minimum age for applicants is set between 18 to 20 years, while the maximum age varies from 27 to 32 years depending on the position, calculated as of August 1. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a multi-stage process: the first phase will be a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), followed by a second phase CBE, physical tests, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive monthly salaries ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹1,51,100, depending on the position. The first phase of the CBE is expected to take place between August and September, with the second phase scheduled for December.
During the application process, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹100 for General/OBC/EWS categories. Female candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
