Prayagraj, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Riteshwar Maharaj, head of Shri Anandam Dham, has shared his thoughts on the film “Hanuman Ansh,” highlighting a shift in Bollywood’s approach to culture. He remarked that previously, the industry was influenced by anti-national sentiments that undermined India’s historical and religious narratives. However, he believes that the mindset in India is changing.
In an interview, Maharaj stated, “India’s culture is eternal. Unfortunately, Hollywood and Bollywood previously utilized anti-national funds that threatened our cultural heritage, affecting our youth and erasing our historical and religious memories. In recent years, Bollywood has started producing films that celebrate our heroes, faith, and culture. Movies continue to have a significant impact on society, influencing both films and web series.”
Maharaj emphasized that the entry of traditional and nationalist perspectives into the film industry will greatly contribute to improving the cultural landscape for future generations. He described “Hanuman Ansh” as a film based on the life of a saint and Lord Hanuman, which, despite its modest budget, is proving to be a commercial success. This, he argues, indicates a positive shift in the Indian mindset.
He noted that India is eager to return to its roots. The younger generations, such as Gen Z and Gen Alpha, are looking to blend modern technologies like AI and coding with the teachings of ancient Vedic traditions. Maharaj believes that this integration could help India reclaim its status as a global leader.
In response to Congress leader Rashid Alvi’s criticism of the BJP for using religion in politics, Maharaj defended the intertwining of faith and governance. He stated, “India is the land of eternal culture. If religion is the mother, then politics is the daughter. If the political throne is placed beneath the religious seat, the country may face challenges similar to those in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Our nation has always prioritized the religious throne over the political one, which fosters unity and happiness among its people.”
He dismissed the opposition’s statements as mere rhetoric, asserting that those who hold true to India’s cultural values would never oppose truth, faith, and love. Maharaj urged that India’s culture should evolve positively, acknowledging that the opposition’s role is to voice dissent in a democracy.
He also addressed recent incidents in Prayagraj, including the collapse of the Ram Van Gaman Marg. Maharaj called it a regrettable event and stressed the importance of investigating the cause, whether it was a natural disaster or a construction flaw. He pointed out that such incidents have occurred throughout history and emphasized the need for prompt government action and corrective measures.
