New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Ragini Nayak has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech in Vadodara, particularly his use of terms like “narrow-minded uncle” and “mental Naxalite.” She emphasized that the language used by the Prime Minister should reflect the dignity of his office. Nayak called for serious discussions on pressing issues affecting youth, employment, education, health, inflation, and farmers.
Nayak pointed out the irony of Modi making negative comments while expecting positivity from others. She questioned the appropriateness of using terms such as “mental Naxalite,” “narrow-minded uncle,” “urban Naxalite,” and “movement activist,” stating that these phrases are baffling. She insisted that discussions should focus on the real problems faced by students.
Referring to Modi’s event at SRCC, she noted that announcements should have been made regarding student safety and facilities. Nayak also highlighted the tragic building collapse in Satya Niketan, raising concerns about student safety. She challenged JP Nadda’s remarks about new party offices, asking why there is no discussion on the establishment of new hostels, colleges, and hospitals in the country.
She stressed the need for serious conversations about issues affecting the youth, women, farmers, employment, and inflation, asserting that humor and political jabs will not solve the nation’s problems.
Nayak targeted the government over its claim of a 7.8 percent GDP growth, pointing out the stark contrast with videos depicting poverty and poor conditions for children. She argued that it is natural to question the government’s achievements in such an environment. Furthermore, she criticized Modi for failing to address his electoral promises and the current challenges faced by the public.
In response to the BJP’s comments about the color change from red to blue by Akhilesh Yadav’s party, Nayak retorted that the BJP should first address its own political stance before commenting on others’ choices of colors and attire.
She referenced Modi’s various electoral statements, suggesting that caste, class, and social identity are often exploited for political gain during elections. Nayak also mentioned Rahul Gandhi‘s call for a caste census, arguing that when such discussions arise, the government tends to define different groups in varied ways. Instead of making comments about colors, she urged the government to respond to the real issues faced by the public.
Nayak raised questions about the state of education, health, and employment in Uttar Pradesh, citing NITI Aayog data that places the state at the bottom in these sectors. She demanded that political parties should explain why the situation in these areas has not improved, rather than focusing on superficial issues like clothing and colors.
Regarding the controversy over non-vegetarian food linked to Dhirendra Shastri, Nayak asserted that the Indian Constitution guarantees equal rights to all citizens, regardless of religion, caste, or region. She argued that personal food choices are tied to civil rights and that infringing upon these rights is illegal. Every individual should have the right to live according to their preferences within the bounds of the law, and no one’s rights should be violated.
