Special Weekly Train from Rishikesh to Ernakulam Launched to Ease Passenger Rush

Jaipur-Udaipur Superfast Train to Operate Only to Chanderia

Kota: In response to heavy passenger traffic and long waiting lists on trains, Indian Railways has introduced a special weekly train service from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand to Ernakulam in Kerala. This new service will pass through key stations including Delhi, Mathura, Kota, and Nagda, benefiting travellers across nine states, including Rajasthan.

Saurabh Jain, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Kota Rail Division, explained that the current regular trains on this route face a ‘regret’ situation due to high demand. To address this, train numbers 04360/04359 have been scheduled. Booking for the train departing from Rishikesh has already begun, while bookings for the return journey from Ernakulam will open soon.

Train Schedule and Timings

Train Number 04360 (Rishikesh to Ernakulam)

This special train will depart from Rishikesh at 7:00 AM on 30 January (Friday). It will reach Kota Junction at 12:30 AM the same night and arrive at Ernakulam at 11:40 PM on 1 February (Sunday).

Train Number 04359 (Ernakulam to Rishikesh)

The return train will leave Ernakulam at 11:00 PM on 3 February (Tuesday), reach Kota at 12:01 AM on Thursday, and arrive in Rishikesh at 4:15 PM on 6 February (Friday).

Major Halts

The train will stop at approximately 30 stations during its journey. Prominent stops include Haridwar, Meerut City, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mathura, Kota, Nagda, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Karwar, Mangalore, Kannur, and Kozhikode.

Coach Composition and Booking Details

The special train will consist of 18 coaches, including 1 composite First and Second AC coach, 1 Second AC coach, 3 Third AC coaches, 7 Sleeper Class coaches, and 4 General coaches.
