Mumbai, April 3: Renowned Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, who delivered numerous hits in the 1990s, has established herself among the top actresses in the industry. Despite coming from the Kapoor family, her journey was not without challenges. She faced various hurdles in the industry, but with her mother’s support, she overcame them all. Today, she attributes her success entirely to her mother, Babita.
In a recent special episode of the singing reality show “Indian Idol,” Karisma openly shared how her mother stood by her during tough times, instilling strength in her. Host Aditya Narayan mentioned Babita’s significant support in Karisma’s career, calling her the real superstar. This acknowledgment brought Karisma to tears.
Emotionally, Karisma expressed, “My mother is like God to me. I am who I am because of her. While my entire family has supported me, the confidence and values my mother instilled in me are my greatest strengths. I owe everything I am to her.”

Karisma revealed that her mother worked alongside legendary actors of that era, including Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Manoj Kumar, and Dharmendra. Additionally, she shared the screen with famous Kapoor family actors like Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor.
However, during that time, there was a tradition in the Kapoor family that discouraged women from working in films. As a result, Babita had to abandon her film career after marriage. It was a significant decision for her, but she prioritized her family and focused on raising her children.
