Severe Heat Wave Hits NCR, Temperatures Expected to Exceed 45 Degrees for Five Days

Noida, May 22: A severe heat wave is gripping the National Capital Region (NCR), affecting Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Delhi. Residents are struggling to cope with the extreme temperatures. According to the meteorological department, no relief is expected over the next five days. Both maximum and minimum temperatures will remain significantly above normal.

The latest forecast indicates that from May 22 to May 27, daytime temperatures will hover around 45 degrees Celsius, with minimum temperatures potentially reaching 31 degrees. Nights will also be uncomfortable, characterized by “warm nights.” On May 22, the maximum temperature is expected to be 45 degrees, with a minimum of 31 degrees. Strong surface winds will blow in the afternoon and evening, exacerbating the heat wave conditions.

On May 23, the maximum temperature is again projected to reach 45 degrees, with a minimum of 31 degrees. The heat wave will persist, accompanied by strong winds. The same pattern is expected on May 24, with temperatures remaining at 45 degrees for the maximum and 31 degrees for the minimum. The heat wave will continue unabated on May 25, 26, and 27, with temperatures around 45 degrees and minimums near 30 degrees.

The meteorological department has clearly stated that maximum temperatures will not drop below 45 degrees in the coming days. The impact of strong surface winds will be felt even more, causing additional discomfort as they will be hot and dry. The rising temperatures and heat wave have led to a surge in cases of dehydration, heat strokes, vomiting, diarrhea, and fainting. Many government and private hospitals in NCR have reported an increase in outpatient cases related to heat-related illnesses.

Doctors advise residents to avoid going out between 12 PM and 4 PM, stay hydrated, and wear light cotton clothing.
