Ahmedabad, June 22: BJP leader Rohan Gupta targeted the Congress party on Monday, claiming that its arrogance is the primary reason for the disintegration of the India alliance. In an interview with a news agency, he stated that Congress issued statements against the TMC before the elections. After winning five seats, Congress deceived both the DMK and TMC. Now, it is the turn of the Samajwadi Party (SP). Gupta emphasized that the relationship between Congress and SP is not one of collaboration but rather an experiment.
He warned that in the coming days, these parties would issue statements to disrupt the alliance, similar to what happened in Bihar, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu. Gupta urged the SP to consider how much trust it can place in Congress.
Additionally, he responded to Sanjay Raut’s statements, referencing a saying that three can spoil the work. Gupta noted that the current situation of Shiv Sena (UBT) mirrors this, with Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, and Sanjay Raut causing turmoil within the party. He lamented that instead of self-reflection, these leaders are quick to blame one another.
Gupta questioned why Balasaheb Thackeray, who always stayed away from the Chief Minister‘s chair, allowed his son to compromise ideologies for power. He pointed out that many have left the party, and compromising on ideology is a betrayal of the public. He urged them to reflect on their actions or risk losing what little respect they have left.
Moreover, he dismissed claims that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is mere propaganda. He asked how UCC could be considered propaganda when it is recognized as a fundamental right in the Constitution. Gupta asserted that while UCC would most impact Hindus, they are not opposing it. He accused Congress of showcasing its appeasement mentality by opposing UCC, emphasizing that it is a right for every Indian, which the BJP government aims to uphold.
Looking back at history, Gupta noted that the mindset of taxpayers has changed, and this shift is contributing to Congress’s decline. He highlighted that the Congress party has consistently acted against national interests, leading to a loss of public trust.
He also responded to Congress leader Pawan Khera’s comments regarding the Lok Sabha results, stating that despite Congress’s predictions of BJP’s downfall, the party has consistently sought the public’s support and received blessings in subsequent elections. Gupta pointed out that Congress has fallen to the margins, losing in states like Haryana and Maharashtra, and facing dire situations alongside its allies in West Bengal.
He concluded by stating that blaming the public for their electoral decisions is unjust. All parties were once part of the India alliance, and Congress’s betrayal of the DMK should not be overlooked. The public will continue to express their mandate, regardless of complaints.
