
Samarkand, Uzbekistan, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), met with Tanzila Narbaeva, the Speaker of Uzbekistan’s Senate, in Samarkand on Saturday. During their meeting, Chadha extended an invitation for her to attend the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum scheduled for this October in New Delhi.
Chadha shared the details of their encounter on the social media platform X, expressing his pleasure in meeting Narbaeva, who is the first woman to hold the position of Senate Chairperson in Uzbekistan. She previously served as the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Women’s Committee from 2016 to 2019.
“It was a joy to personally invite her to the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum. This forum will be hosted by the Indian Parliament in October, marking India’s fourth term as the BRICS chair. India is responsible for coordinating group activities, hosting meetings, and setting the annual agenda,” Chadha stated.
The BJP MP also highlighted discussions about the strengthening ties between India and Uzbekistan. Narbaeva spoke highly of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent successful visit to Uzbekistan and expressed a keen interest in visiting India. “We are eager to welcome her to India,” Chadha added.
Currently, Chadha is in Samarkand representing the Indian Parliament at the three-day 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, which commenced on Friday. Earlier, he expressed his gratitude on X for being selected to represent the Indian Parliament at this conference, thanking Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan for the nomination.
