Gyari County, Shigatse, China, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Tsering Gyabuk, a 40-year-old from Jia Mu village in Gyari County of China’s Shigatse region, has made a remarkable transformation from a traditional shepherd to a wealthy local leader. His journey began in 2009 with a single tractor. Over time, he saved enough money to upgrade to a dump truck and secured a contract for a sand mine. By 2018, his earnings soared to 1.85 million yuan, earning him recognition as a prominent “young talent.”
Despite his newfound wealth, Gyabuk has not forgotten his roots. Embracing the concept of “common prosperity,” he has deployed 33 dump trucks and three loaders to help resolve employment issues for his fellow villagers. Additionally, he has provided stable jobs for four local residents, offering them a monthly salary of 7,500 yuan along with free housing and meals.
In 2019, he established a construction engineering company to broaden income sources for villagers. After becoming the chairman of a cooperative in 2025, he actively sought policy resources to promote industrial projects and emphasized an open and transparent distribution mechanism to ensure that the benefits of development reach every villager.
Gyabuk exemplifies the responsibility and commitment of farmers and herders in the new era, earning respect in the local community as a guiding force for prosperity.
