Mirzapur, July 1: Mahant Yogananad Giri has expressed support for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent comments regarding Rampur and the Rampuri knife. He stated that the Chief Minister’s remarks are entirely valid and should be recognized for their efforts in controlling crime and promoting development in Rampur.
In a conversation, Mahant Yogananad Giri highlighted that Rampur has long been identified with the Rampuri knife. This knife was not merely a product; it served as a significant source of employment and business for the people of Rampur. It was distributed nationwide, providing livelihoods for many. However, during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party, the Rampuri knife was misused extensively. What was once a means of employment became a curse for Rampur over time, leading to increased crime, land grabs, and other illegal activities that plagued the local population for years.
Mahant Yogananad Giri noted that since 2017, there has been a noticeable change in Rampur’s situation. The region is now moving forward with a new identity, characterized by employment, business opportunities, peace, and prosperity. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, efforts have been made to advance Rampur’s development.
Praising the Chief Minister’s statement, he mentioned that Yogi has worked towards eradicating crime in Rampur, creating job opportunities, and striving to give the district an industrial identity. Today’s Rampur looks distinctly different from the Rampur of the past, and this transformation is a result of government initiatives.
Mahant Yogananad Giri further stated that not only Rampur but several districts in Uttar Pradesh once faced rampant crime. Today, the state is progressing towards becoming an ‘excellent state.’ Business expansion is occurring in various locations, new commercial resources are being developed, and different types of industries are being established. This has fostered an atmosphere of happiness and prosperity among the people of the state.
