Punjab Chief Minister Launches Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Scheme to Support Women

Punjab, July 1: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched the highly anticipated ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Scheme’ for women in the state on Wednesday. With the implementation of this scheme, eligible women received a one-time transfer of three months’ financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. Beneficiary women welcomed this initiative from the government.

Beneficiary Gagandeep Kaur spoke to a news agency, stating that this is a commendable initiative by the government, providing significant financial support to women. She mentioned that the funds would be used for household needs and other essential expenses, thereby alleviating the financial burden on families.

She expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, noting that the state government is consistently implementing public welfare schemes that reach the common people.

Another beneficiary, Jasveer Kaur, described the scheme as a relief for women. She highlighted that the government has recognized the challenges faced by women and decided to provide financial assistance, which will greatly benefit families. According to her, previous governments did not adequately address the needs of the common people, while the current government is striving to resolve issues through welfare initiatives.

Beneficiary Ramandeep shared that receiving a lump sum of three months’ assistance, amounting to 3,000 rupees, will help cover household expenses. She expressed that if the scheme had been implemented earlier, women would have benefited even more. Nonetheless, she was pleased about the launch of the scheme, stating it would provide relief to needy families.

Under this scheme, beneficiaries are set to receive monthly financial assistance ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 rupees. This initiative was one of the key electoral promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party before the Punjab Assembly elections in 2022.

The state government aims to empower women economically and provide financial support to their families through this scheme. They believe that regular financial assistance will enhance women’s economic participation, enabling them to better meet household needs.
