Rajeev Chandrasekhar Criticizes P. Chidambaram Over Intellectual Naxal Remarks

Thiruvananthapuram, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Thiruvananthapuram witnessed a heated exchange as Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Kerala BJP president, took aim at senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram over his comments regarding “intellectual naxals.” Chandrasekhar accused Chidambaram of having publicly coined the term “saffron terrorism” during his tenure as Home Minister.

In a post on X, he stated, “Since P. Chidambaram has clarified that he and his Congress colleagues are intellectual naxals, it is crucial to understand their beliefs and ideological foundations. We know they have a lenient stance towards naxalites, despite the sacrifices made by their own party members. They also exhibit softness towards Pakistan and China, while countless individuals have suffered due to terrorism, and brave soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Chandrasekhar further emphasized, “These Congress leaders were also the ones who crafted the false narrative of ‘saffron terrorism.’ Such intellectual naxals pretend to be enlightened while spreading division, chaos, and corruption in society. They hinder progress, innovation, and development. Is this merely my theory? No, the evidence lies in the ten-year tenure of the Congress government at the center and the current Congress government in Kerala.”

Previously, the state BJP president remarked, “When individuals labeled as ‘intellectual naxals’ serve as Home and Finance Ministers, the country suffers the consequences. The borrowed leftist ideologies propagated by those who consider themselves intellectuals leave behind only chaos, disorder, destruction, and death. Prime Minister Modi has worked to eradicate the violent naxalism that has been fostered by intellectual naxals for decades.”

Tensions between the parties continue to escalate as both sides prepare for the upcoming electoral battles.
