
New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : As the 18th BRICS Summit approaches, New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam is gearing up to host this prestigious event. Scheduled for September 12-13, the summit will bring together representatives and leaders from around the globe.
The official X handle for the summit shared an update, stating, “This is Delhi. This is a special moment. With the brilliance of our heritage and the preparations at Bharat Mandapam, the capital is completing final arrangements for the 18th BRICS Summit.”
Earlier posts on X also noted, “Delhi is preparing for the 18th BRICS Summit. Soon, the world will meet at one table.”
As the weekend approaches, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India’s readiness for this significant occasion. He shared a video on X showcasing Bharat Mandapam, beautifully adorned to welcome global leaders. The video concluded with the message, “India is preparing for BRICS 2026.”
As the chair of BRICS in 2026, India will host the summit, which will include member and partner countries, as well as invited guests.
In his post, PM Modi declared, “Everything is ready for BRICS 2026!”
Notable leaders attending the summit include Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and many others.
India’s chairmanship theme, “Strengthening, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability,” reflects PM Modi’s vision of a people-centric approach grounded in the principle of “Humanity First.” The discussions will focus on enhancing mutual cooperation among BRICS nations and addressing global and regional issues of shared significance.
BRICS comprises Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. Partner countries include Belarus, Cuba, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
India, a founding member of BRICS, has previously held the presidency in 2012, 2016, and 2021. This year marks India’s fourth term, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of BRICS’s establishment.
