
Jaipur, April 15: Rajasthan has experienced a significant rise in temperatures over the past 24 hours. Barmer has emerged as the hottest city in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius. Following closely is Kota, where the mercury reached 41.5 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, temperatures in Barmer and Jaisalmer exceeded 40 degrees, while on Wednesday, Kota also reported temperatures above 41 degrees. Churu and Chittorgarh did not lag behind, with temperatures in these cities also surpassing 40 degrees.
As the heat intensifies, hot winds have begun to sweep across western Rajasthan, causing considerable discomfort for residents. The meteorological center in Jaipur issued a warning on Wednesday, indicating that heatwave conditions are likely to affect several parts of the state starting April 17.
From Tuesday morning to evening, most areas of Rajasthan experienced clear skies. The intense sunlight led to a rapid increase in daytime temperatures, with Barmer recording 41.6 degrees and Kota 41.5 degrees.
In Jaisalmer and Churu, the heat was palpable, with maximum temperatures reaching 40.5 degrees Celsius. However, a slight change in weather was observed in the evening, as light clouds appeared in parts of Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Alwar, bringing some relief with cooler breezes.
According to the weather department, the heat is expected to intensify in the coming days. A yellow alert has been issued for several districts in western Rajasthan. On April 17, heatwave conditions are anticipated in Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, and Barmer, with similar conditions expected to persist in Sri Ganganagar and Barmer on April 18.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat, as conditions may worsen in the coming days.
