Tragic School Shooting in Turkey Claims Four Lives and Injures Twenty

Istanbul, April 15: A tragic shooting incident occurred at a school in Turkey, marking the second such event within 24 hours. This time, a student opened fire, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuring twenty others.

The incident took place in the southeastern province of Kahramanmaraş. Governor Mukrrem Unluar was seen at the scene, addressing reporters about the situation. He revealed that the assailant had brought a weapon in his backpack, which belonged to his father.

Local media reported that among the deceased was a teacher. The governor confirmed that the attacker also died. The motive behind the assault remains unclear, and an investigation has been launched.

Turkish media indicated that the shooter entered two classrooms, armed with five guns and seven magazines. A reporter from Turkish broadcaster NTV noted, “The sound of gunfire was very loud,” causing chaos outside the school.

Just a day earlier, a similar incident occurred at another school in Turkey, where an individual was seen entering and firing shots.

This latest attack took place at a high school in southeastern Turkey, where a former student injured 16 people. Local Governor Hasan Şildak stated that the assailant, believed to be around 18-19 years old, was urged by police to surrender. Before doing so, he fired indiscriminately with a shotgun and subsequently took his own life. The injured included ten students, four teachers, a canteen worker, and a police officer.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 AM local time at the Ahmet Koyunk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Siverek district. The school was evacuated, and the injured were transported to hospitals, with five requiring further treatment at other facilities.
