Jaipur, April 15: Rajasthan has witnessed a significant rise in temperatures over the past 24 hours. Barmer has emerged as the hottest city in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius. Following closely is Kota, where temperatures reached 41.5 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, both Barmer and Jaisalmer saw temperatures soar above 40 degrees, while Kota recorded over 41 degrees on Wednesday. Churu and Chittorgarh also experienced high temperatures, exceeding 40 degrees.
As the heat intensifies, hot winds have begun to sweep across western Rajasthan, causing considerable discomfort for residents. The Meteorological Center in Jaipur issued a warning on Wednesday, indicating a likelihood of heatwave conditions in several parts of the state starting April 17.
From Tuesday morning to evening, most areas in Rajasthan experienced clear skies. The intense sunlight led to a rapid increase in daytime temperatures, with Barmer recording 41.6 degrees and Kota at 41.5 degrees.
The heat was also evident in Jaisalmer and Churu, where maximum temperatures reached 40.5 degrees Celsius. However, a slight change in weather was observed in the evening, with light clouds and cooler breezes providing some relief in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and parts of Alwar.
According to the weather department, temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming days. A yellow alert has been issued for several districts in western Rajasthan. Heatwave conditions are anticipated on April 17 in Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, and Barmer, with similar conditions expected to persist on April 18.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat, as conditions may worsen in the coming days.
