New Delhi, March 29: In the 132nd episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the resulting energy crisis.
PM Modi began by expressing gratitude to the governments of Gulf and Middle Eastern countries for their support and assistance to Indians residing there for work. He emphasized that India is facing the current energy crisis with resilience.
He noted, “March has been a tumultuous month globally. We remember that the world faced numerous challenges due to COVID-19 for an extended period. We all hoped that after overcoming the pandemic, the world would progress anew. However, we are witnessing wars and conflicts erupting in various regions.”
The Prime Minister thanked Gulf nations, stating, “Millions of our families have relatives working in these countries, especially in the Gulf. I am grateful to the Gulf nations for providing all kinds of assistance to over one crore Indians there. The region currently experiencing war is a significant hub for our energy needs, leading to a global crisis in petrol and diesel.”
PM Modi reassured citizens that India is tackling the energy crisis head-on. He called for unity among the populace, saying, “Our global relations, the cooperation we receive from different countries, and the strength built over the past decade are enabling India to confront these challenges. This is a testing time. I urge all citizens to unite and overcome this challenge. Those who politicize this issue should refrain, as it concerns the welfare of 1.4 billion Indians. There is no room for politics here.”
