Patna, April 1: In a brazen daylight robbery in Bihar’s capital, unknown criminals challenged law and order by executing a theft on Tuesday. The robbers made off with jewelry and cash valued at approximately 4 lakhs.
The incident occurred on RPS Kali Mandir Road in the Danapur police station area. Around 3 PM, four masked assailants arrived on two motorcycles and a scooter, targeting ‘Vaishnavi Jewelers’ with a well-planned strategy.
According to police reports, the criminals had meticulously prepared for the heist. They donned masks and helmets to conceal their identities. Upon entering the store, they brandished a pistol, instilling fear, and immediately began their robbery.
They smashed the glass counter and fled with jewelry worth around 4 lakhs and cash from the store. When the shop owner, Suman Kumar, attempted to resist, one of the robbers struck him on the head with the butt of the pistol, leaving him severely injured.
After executing the crime, the suspects fled towards RPS Engineering College. The entire incident was captured on the store’s CCTV cameras, which are expected to provide crucial leads for the investigation.
Upon receiving the report, police from Danapur and Rupaspur rushed to the scene and transported the injured shopkeeper to the hospital. A team from the Forensic Science Lab was also called in to gather evidence. Authorities stated that they are working to identify and apprehend the suspects using CCTV footage and technical investigations.
