Ramnagar, April 1: A devastating road accident shook the Ramnagar area on Tuesday evening. Around 7:30 PM, two motorcycles collided head-on at Kaniya Chowk, resulting in the death of one young man and serious injuries to three others.
According to reports, three young men from the village of Sawalde in Ramnagar—Amit, also known as Digambar (19), and two others, aged 21—were riding on a single motorcycle when they were struck by a Bullet motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The Bullet was reportedly ridden by Pankaj, approximately 40 years old, from Patkot. As both motorcycles approached Kaniya Chowk, they collided violently. The impact was so severe that both bikes were completely wrecked, and all four young men were thrown onto the road, suffering serious injuries.
Local residents rushed the injured to Ramdatt Combined Hospital in Ramnagar immediately after the accident. Doctors declared Amit, also known as Digambar, dead on arrival, while the other three were in critical condition and were referred to a higher medical facility after initial treatment.
Following the accident, a crowd of family members gathered at the hospital, visibly distraught and mourning their loss.
The police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the news and began their investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that speeding and negligence may have contributed to the accident, although authorities are examining all aspects of the case.
This tragic incident has cast a pall over the local community. Residents are urging the administration to enhance traffic control and safety measures at Kaniya Chowk to prevent such incidents in the future.
