New Delhi, August 16: The nation is remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. In this context, a BJP leader from Punjab shared an emotional story highlighting the deep respect and admiration between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mentor, Vajpayee.
The social media account ‘Modi Story’, which shares inspiring tales from PM Modi’s life, posted a video on X. It recounted how PM Modi honored Vajpayee by recording an old remark made by him in his personal diary.
This incident dates back to 1996 when then-Prime Minister Vajpayee visited the Namdhari Shaheedi Memorial in Punjab. During his visit, he penned a thoughtful message in the visitor logbook.
Years later, when PM Modi visited the same memorial, he expressed a desire to see Vajpayee’s original message first. After reading it, PM Modi took out his personal diary and noted down every word written by Vajpayee.
Punjab BJP leader Naresh Garg recalled this touching moment, stating that when asked why PM Modi wrote down that message, he replied, “Atal Ji’s words are a source of inspiration for life.”
According to Garg, PM Modi emphasized, “Atal Ji is a source of inspiration and energy for us. His teachings will guide us towards a better future. We must uphold and follow his ideals throughout our lives.”
Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi paid heartfelt tribute to Vajpayee on his death anniversary. He described Vajpayee as an extraordinary politician endowed with remarkable vision, who dedicated his life to the service of the nation.
PM Modi stated that Vajpayee’s words and efforts have inspired generations and strengthened the country through his leadership. He noted that Vajpayee’s emphasis on good governance and public welfare will continue to guide us.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “On Atal Ji’s death anniversary, I remember him. A great politician with extraordinary vision dedicated his life to the service of the nation. His words and efforts have inspired generations and strengthened our nation. His focus on good governance and public welfare will always guide us.”
