Sochi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : A Ukrainian unmanned boat attack in Sochi, Russia, has left eight people injured, according to the Kuban Emergency Response Center. The incident occurred on the waterfront promenade, igniting a fire in the aftermath of the assault.
The center reported that the attack caused partial damage to nearby infrastructure linked to the beach and the Primorskaya promenade. Emergency and safety teams are currently on the scene. Among the injured, five individuals were transported to the hospital, while three others received treatment at the site.
Earlier on the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces had targeted a naval base in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region. In a post on X, he stated that the base in Novorossiysk was struck, including oil loading terminals, military port facilities, and warships capable of carrying Kalibr missiles.
Zelensky described the attack as a response to ongoing assaults by Russia on Ukraine. This operation involved collaboration between Ukraine’s security service, unmanned systems forces, the Ukrainian Navy, defense intelligence, and the state border security service.
In response, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its military had conducted strikes on several Ukrainian military and logistical sites. Official statements indicated that these attacks targeted military-industrial facilities, seaports, ships, and logistics centers in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Odesa.
A factory producing unmanned boats and drones in Kyiv was reportedly hit, along with a cargo ship carrying military supplies bound for the Odesa port. Additionally, multiple sites around Mykolaiv were attacked, including four storage tanks for fuel and lubricants at maritime ports, a military supply facility, five logistics centers, three military warehouses, and an electrical substation supplying power to the port.
The Russian Defense Ministry also stated that logistics facilities at the Starokozache road border checkpoint were targeted, a route used for transporting military supplies to Ukraine.
