Trump Hints at Possible Bilateral Meeting Between Russia and Ukraine to End Conflict

Washington, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : President Donald Trump indicated that a bilateral meeting between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine could be on the horizon as efforts to end the ongoing war continue. Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One for a trip to Dallas, Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to negotiate a resolution to the conflict.

When asked about recent discussions with Putin, Trump remarked, “We had a very good conversation.” He emphasized that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also open to compromise, it would be a positive development.

Trump pointed out that the primary obstacle to a deal is the strained relationship between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders. “In my opinion, the biggest reason is that there are two people who hate each other,” he explained, referring to Putin and Zelensky.

While Trump did not disclose when his conversation with Putin took place or the duration of their discussion, he expressed optimism about the possibility of progress. He attributed this hope to his lifelong experience in negotiations, stating, “I talk to people. I’ve done that my whole life. I know about deals, and both of these guys are tired of fighting.”

He mentioned that another bilateral meeting with Putin is feasible, though he did not provide a specific date or location for such discussions. Trump highlighted the urgent need for a resolution, citing the high death toll in the war, which he noted included 25,000 casualties last month alone.
