Moscow, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned recent U.S. military attacks on several Iranian oil tankers, labeling them a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry affirmed that Iran’s armed forces would not hesitate to exercise their right to self-defense.
The Iranian embassy in India shared this statement on the social media platform X, emphasizing the seriousness of the matter. The ministry described the U.S. military assault on Iranian commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman as part of a broader campaign of military aggression, naval blockades, and economic pressure against Iran.
According to the Foreign Ministry, these aggressive actions not only escalate tensions in the region but also pose a clear threat to both regional and international peace and security. In response to the U.S. actions against its oil tankers, Iran’s armed forces conducted defensive strikes on U.S. military bases and facilities located in Jordan.
The ministry pointed out that Jordan has historically supported U.S. military operations against Iran. Additionally, some U.S. vessels allegedly involved in aggressive activities were also targeted. Iran reiterated its commitment to defending its sovereignty and national interests, stating that its armed forces would respond decisively to any military actions from adversaries.
The Foreign Ministry called upon the United Nations Security Council and the UN Secretary-General to take immediate action regarding the serious violations of international peace and security caused by U.S. actions against Iran. They urged the international community to intervene and prevent further escalation of the situation.
