Gandhinagar, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah addressed concerns following a slab collapse at a construction site in the Kudasan area of Gandhinagar on Thursday. He confirmed that all injured workers are safe and receiving medical attention.
In discussions with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, Shah sought updates on the rescue and relief operations initiated by local authorities.
On social media platform X, Shah stated, “I spoke with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister regarding the slab collapse incident in Kudasan, Gandhinagar. The local administration promptly commenced rescue efforts. All injured workers are safe and receiving the best possible treatment. I pray for their swift recovery.”
The incident occurred around 9:15 PM on Wednesday at a commercial building named “Boski The Empire,” where a section of the slab fell during construction. Emergency services, including local police, fire brigade, and disaster management teams, arrived promptly to begin rescue operations.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi visited the accident site and Gandhinagar Civil Hospital. He reported that approximately 15 workers were injured, with two discharged and the others undergoing treatment. Health Minister Praful Panseriya also visited the hospital to check on the injured.
BJP legislator Rita Patel shared that local residents informed her that about 20 to 22 workers typically operate at the site daily. She noted, “Around 13 workers were rescued and taken to the civil hospital, and none are in critical condition.”
Authorities have ordered a thorough investigation into the slab collapse, with legal actions to follow based on the findings.
