Special Arrangements for Children in Flood Relief Camps in Bhagalpur, Bihar

Bhagalpur, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : In Bhagalpur, Bihar, authorities have implemented special measures to support children residing in flood relief camps. With the Ganges River levels exceeding danger marks, significant portions of Bhagalpur have been affected by flooding. To ensure that children can continue their education and enjoy some leisure time, LCD TVs have been installed in the camps.

The relief efforts include a camp set up at the Polytechnic College grounds, particularly for residents of the flood-hit Nathnagar area. Families are spending time in front of the TVs, which have become a source of joy for the children, who are not only entertained but also engaged in learning activities.

Children expressed their excitement about the new facilities, with one young resident cheering, “Long live Narendra Modi! Long live Samrat Chaudhary!” as they watched movies on the TV, a luxury not available in their homes.

Kundan Kumar, the Additional District Magistrate for Disaster Management, confirmed that the installation of LCD TVs at the relief camp aims to provide both entertainment and educational resources. The administration has also initiated temporary schools to ensure children do not feel the absence of their regular classes.

Additionally, the administration has made provisions for livestock affected by the floods. Kumar noted that not only are flood-affected families receiving ample food, but arrangements for fodder for animals have also been established. He assured that the disaster management department is ready to address any further needs or challenges that may arise.
