New Delhi, February 3: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided valuable guidance to NDA leaders regarding the upcoming elections. He advised them to continue grassroots efforts to maintain the coalition’s winning momentum.
Rijiju noted that NDA MPs congratulated the Prime Minister on several trade agreements made with developed nations, which he believes will greatly benefit the public.
The NDA Parliamentary Party convened on Tuesday to discuss the Union Budget 2026 and the government’s vision for a developed India by 2047. The meeting took place at the Parliament Library Building in New Delhi and was attended by Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Health Minister JP Nadda, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, along with various NDA ministers and MPs.
After the meeting, Rijiju addressed the media, highlighting that the BJP formally welcomed its new National President, Nitin Nabin, during this session.
He mentioned that under Modi’s leadership, discussions revolved around historic trade deals, including nine free trade agreements. The India-EU free trade agreement was signed less than a week ago, and a trade agreement with the United States was finalized the previous day, generating excitement among the people. The NDA parliamentary meeting was filled with enthusiasm, and members congratulated the Prime Minister for these achievements.
Following a phone call between Prime Minister Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump, a trade deal was established on Monday, marking India’s second trade agreement in ten days.
Rijiju emphasized that these historic trade deals with 39 developed countries demonstrate that under Modi’s leadership, these nations are eager to partner with India. This collaboration will significantly benefit the common people, including all EU member states, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
Earlier in the day, when Prime Minister Modi arrived for the meeting, a group of journalists congratulated him on the India-U.S. trade deal. He responded with a smile and waved in gratitude. Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister stated that the Prime Minister provided excellent guidance to all NDA MPs.
Rijiju remarked that he reminded all NDA allies that the coalition continues to win elections consistently. Elections are not won in the air; they require hard work on the ground and effective policies to advance the nation.
During this time, Rijiju also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of disrupting proceedings in the Lok Sabha on Monday by referencing an article related to a book by former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane concerning the Ladakh standoff.
He stated, “There was a very good debate and discussion in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. The Lok Sabha also started positively, but the entire debate was disrupted due to Rahul Gandhi. The Rajya Sabha had a splendid discussion, with MPs actively participating and offering significant suggestions. Both houses began well, but everything was halted because of Rahul Gandhi.”
He further added, “Everyone should adhere to the rules. We are all elected members, and the house operates according to its rules and established conduct. Therefore, no one should disregard this, and everyone must comply. Even if someone struggles to articulate their point in a debate, they should not hinder others. Many MPs from Congress and opposition parties engage in good debates, provide valuable suggestions, and wish to speak, but their time is wasted because of Rahul Gandhi.”
He concluded, “Congress can never appreciate anything good; it’s their habit. They cannot achieve anything positive themselves, and if something beneficial for the country arises, they cannot tolerate it.”
