Defence Minister Clarifies: Operation Sindoor Was Concluded After Objectives Were Achieved, Not Due to External Pressure

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Lok Sabha regarding Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In a firm and clear statement, he said the operation was a remarkable example of coordination between all three wings of the Indian Armed Forces and gave a befitting reply to every provocation by Pakistan.
Singh asserted that Operation Sindoor was not stopped due to any external pressure, but only after the mission’s objectives were fully achieved. “The operation was completely successful, and our forces met all their targets,” he said, adding, “We did not halt under any pressure; instead, we disrupted every evil plan of the enemy.”
Operation Was Precise and Purpose-Driven
Rajnath Singh clarified that the aim of the operation was not to start a war but to destroy terrorist infrastructure. This mission was accomplished within just 22 minutes. He dismissed claims that any external influence led to the halt, stating, “It is incorrect to say that Operation Sindoor was stopped under pressure. It was concluded after achieving all intended goals, and only after Pakistan made appeals and DGMO-level talks took place.”
Over 100 Terrorists Eliminated in Operation Sindoor
Singh shared that before launching the operation, thorough analysis and planning were carried out to ensure minimal risk to Pakistani civilians while delivering maximum damage to terrorists and their hideouts. He revealed that over 100 terrorists were neutralised during the operation. “This was not just a military strike but a clear and decisive reflection of our national policy against terrorism,” the minister said.
Opposition Criticised for Wrong Questions
Targeting the opposition, Singh said, “Pakistan failed to strike any of our targets or cause any damage to Indian property. But the opposition never asked how many enemy aircraft we destroyed. Instead, they keep questioning how many of our planes were lost. That doesn’t represent the true sentiment of the people.” He challenged them to ask the right question: “Was Operation Sindoor successful?” — to which, he firmly answered, “Yes.”
Focus Should Be on Results, Not Distractions
Taking a dig at the opposition, Singh said, “One should not worry about broken pens or pencils during an exam, but focus on the results.” He emphasised that when the goal is big, smaller distractions shouldn’t divert attention. “Such focus shifts can affect national security and the morale of our soldiers. In the end, what matters is the result — and our forces achieved every single objective of Operation Sindoor,” he concluded.
