New Delhi, June 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took extra measures to ensure that students participating in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination faced no inconveniences. On Saturday, he chose to wait at the Delhi Airport until the exam commenced before heading to his official residence.
After leading the main event for the 12th International Yoga Day, PM Modi’s flight landed at Delhi Airport around 1:15 PM. He was scheduled to go directly to his government residence.
However, with the NEET-UG 2026 exam set to begin at 2 PM, the Prime Minister decided to remain at the airport. This decision was made to prevent any traffic disruptions for students heading to their exam centers due to his convoy’s movement.
The Prime Minister’s choice aimed to maintain smooth traffic flow in the city. He left for his residence only after the exam started at 2 PM.
Meanwhile, over 2 million candidates from across the country and abroad are participating in the NEET-UG re-exam under tight security.
Prior to this, some candidates waiting outside various exam centers expressed concerns about their preparation and the exam itself, following a reported paper leak incident on May 3.
Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan wished the candidates well on Saturday morning and urged them to take the exam without fear or anxiety.
He also mentioned that results for over 1.5 million students who applied for re-evaluation of their CBSE Class 12 scores are ready and will be released soon.
In a media interaction, the Education Minister stated, “Today, the re-examination is being conducted. I have complete faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), all state governments, district administrations, India’s education system, and especially the students.”
He added, “Around 22 lakh students will soon participate in the NEET exam. Take the exam without fear or worry. You will surely perform well. Best wishes to all students. The students have faith in India’s system, and I hope this trust continues.”
The Education Minister also warned that strict action would be taken against those attempting to jeopardize the future of the country’s new generation.
