
Lucknow, June 21: The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Uttar Pradesh. Events were held in various districts, where representatives, ministers, officials, and a large number of citizens participated in yoga sessions. The significance of yoga, healthy lifestyles, and India’s ancient traditions were highlighted during these gatherings.
In Moradabad, a yoga event at the sports stadium saw a significant turnout. Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia, and other administrative officials were present. They collectively practiced yoga, promoting the message of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
In the state capital, Lucknow, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma participated in yoga on this occasion. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the global recognition of Yoga Day, celebrated in over 170 countries today. Sharma emphasized that yoga is not just a one-day event but a global commitment to improving and safeguarding human health. He praised India’s Ayurvedic and yoga traditions as guiding lights for the world, contributing significantly to human welfare.
During an event in Mainpuri, Minister Jaiveer Singh expressed gratitude towards the central government and Prime Minister Modi. He noted that India’s culture, traditions, and the legacy of sages have gained international recognition through Yoga Day. According to him, over 200 countries now celebrate this day, which is a matter of pride for India.
In Badaun, Minister Arun Kumar Saxena wished for the long life of Prime Minister Modi on Yoga Day. He remarked that the Prime Minister has played a pivotal role in popularizing yoga not only in India but worldwide. He mentioned that last year, yoga events were held in approximately 165 countries, and this year, that number has increased.
In Prayagraj, attractive sand art was created on the banks of the Sangam to commemorate International Yoga Day. A sand artist explained that their artwork depicted people of various ages practicing yoga, conveying the message that the tradition of yoga continues to thrive and guide people towards a healthy life.
In Mirzapur, Minister Ashish Singh Patel stated that this year’s theme for Yoga Day is “Healthy Aging.” He highlighted that yoga helps individuals maintain physical and mental health as they age.
In Maharajganj, BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary remarked on Prime Minister Modi’s significant contribution to giving yoga an international identity. Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, Cabinet Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma noted that yoga promotes a balanced, healthy, and disciplined life, enhancing an individual’s efficiency and concentration.
