New Delhi, June 22: On June 22, 2026, India and Morocco held the second meeting of their Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism in New Delhi. During this meeting, both nations condemned all forms of terrorism and agreed to enhance mutual cooperation.
The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Vinod Bahade, Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism) from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Hicham Bali, head of the National Judicial Police Brigade under Morocco’s National Police Directorate.
Both parties strongly denounced terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terrorism. They specifically condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, and the incident near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10, 2025.
The discussions included the threats posed by active terrorist organizations globally and within their respective regions. They also shared insights on existing and emerging challenges in combating terrorism, such as preventing violent extremism, curbing the financing of terrorism, and addressing the misuse of technology for terrorist activities. The relationship between international organized crime and terrorism, as well as the global movement of terrorists, were also key topics.
Both countries discussed measures to further strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation through information sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices. They reiterated their commitment to enhancing collaboration on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, FATF, and GCTF.
The two sides agreed to hold the next meeting of the Joint Working Group in Morocco on a mutually decided date.
